The Finnish
contract manufacturer Plastone Oy's subsidiary Plastone OÜ has
established a 2100 square meter factory in Saue, 20 km south of
Tallinn, in Estonia. The official opening of the plant was celebrated
on September 8th.
The factory in Saue improves Plastone's operating range both
geographically and in terms of a larger variety of manufacturing
services offered to its customers as the Estonian plant gives a good
opportunity to do cost-efficient assembly work. Technological know-how
and 25 years experience in injection molding at the Finnish plants of
Plastone has been adapted and best practices transferred to the Saue
plant. The company has got an option to double its production
facilities in Saue. The products manufactured at the Saue plant are
technical plastic products, mostly for the electric and electronic
industry and healthcare industry but later on also for other
industries mostly in the Baltic area.
"At the moment, there are around 15 people working at the Saue
factory, but we hire more people continuously and by the end of this
year, Plastone OÜ is expected to have approximately 25-30 employees,
and in two years around 60 persons,” said Managing Director Markku
Pihlajaniemi. “The Saue factory also serves our Finnish customers,
especially in the case of products that require a lot of manual
assembly work.”
Established in 1980, Plastone Oy is a contract manufacturer of
