The Automotive Division of the
Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) International has issued a call
for executive nominations for its 39th-annual Automotive Innovation
Awards Competition and Gala. These awards recognize outstanding
leadership among automotive and plastics industry executives.
Executives can self-nominate or be
nominated by peers or members of their organizations, and must agree
to accept the award in person at SPE's Innovation Awards Gala, which
is held one evening during the first two weeks of November this
year. The deadline for nominations is June 1, and the awards
submission form is available online. Nominations are being sought in
three categories:
-
The Lifetime Achievement Award
for technical achievements by automotive industry executives
whose work in research, design, or engineering has led to
significant integration of polymeric materials on vehicles.
-
The Executive Leadership Award,
which honours automotive executives who have demonstrated
leadership in integrating polymeric materials on global vehicle
platforms and who have been recognised both within the industry
as well as in their community as leaders.
-
The Special Recognition Award,
acknowledging a person or team that has made important
contributions to automotive plastics in the area of vehicle
development, engineering, science, or education.
SPE says its Innovation Awards Gala
is the largest competition of its kind in the world. Dozens of teams
made up of OEMs, tier suppliers, and polymer producers submit
nominations describing their part, system, or complete vehicle
module and why it merits the claim of being the year's most
innovative use of plastics. Funds raised from this event are used to
support SPE educational efforts and technical seminars.
