  • AMBA Announces Fall Conference in Washington D.C.

The American Mold Builders Association Annual Fall Conference is open for registration, and all U.S. mold manufacturers are encouraged to join the AMBA for this year’s critical Election Year meeting. For the third year, the AMBA Fall Conference is being held in Washington, D.C., where attendees will once again schedule meetings with Senators and Representatives to show them that this industry is serious about the issues that impact American manufacturing.

There’s never been a more critical time than now to participate in the AMBA Fall Conference. With the elections looming in November, this Conference, which is being held September 28-30, is the prime opportunity to let Senators and Representatives know what we expect them to do to support American manufacturing, and to support the small-business person.

The Fall Conference starts on Tuesday, September 28, with a reception. On Wednesday, September 29, attendees will meet in the morning to hear a welcome address on Taking Action from Mike Armbrust, President of the AMBA and General Manager of Mako Mold. Doug Wood, President of the Association for Manufacturing Technology will provide us with education on the issues so that attendees will understand the issues on which the AMBA wants to focus with our elected Congress people. This year new issues that have surfaced since last year will be covered, so Doug Wood will arm attendees with the knowledge that they need to understand what steps need to be taken and how to accomplish stated goals during our time in D.C.

Next, Scott Paul, Executive Director of the Alliance for American Manufacturing, will make a presentation in “Conducting an Effective Meeting with a Congressperson.”

In the afternoon, attendees will be assigned to groups, and each group will have pre- scheduled meetings with specific Senators and Representatives. The AMBA will try to schedule meetings with the Congress people from your States where possible.

On Thursday, September 30, the entire day will be devoted to more pre-arranged meetings with Congress people.

“Do not miss out on this important opportunity to meet with your elected officials at this critical time in our nation’s history,” says Melissa Millhuff, AMBA’s Executive Director. “Meeting in person with your elected official is much more powerful than any letter
can be.”

Registration is open online. Sign up now at www.amba.org, or call the AMBA at
847-222-9402 with questions. Deadline for registration is August 13, firm, due to the need to confirm meetings with government officials.
