Currier Plastics has added a new process to their existing
capabilities of
Design, Extrusion Blow Molding and Injection
Molding by adding two new Aoki
Direct Heatcon ISBM (Injection
Stretch Blow Molding) Machines to their plant floor.
“Having
the ability to now offer this technology to our customers has been
on our wish list for quite some time. With the demand for high
quality, low cost, economically and environmentally friendly plastic
products, we simply had to answer the call to action,” says Steve
Valentino, Blow Molding Manager at Currier Plastics.
Aoki is
the only manufacturer that offers a one step, 3 station molding
process.
The preforms are first injection molded. The second
step is the stretch blow
molding to create the shape of the part
without the need for conditioning in between stages. The third step
is the finished product. This new molding process addresses market
sustainability concerns and can also use 100% recycled PET material.
Using the preforms allows Currier to offer a variety of shapes
and sizes with common neck finishes. By making this $1.1 million
dollar investment in new technology, Currier Plastics can offer a
variety of solutions that plastics customers are demanding so they
can remain competitive in this economic climate.
