  • EuroMold 2010 Update

The 17th EuroMold, World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, will take place Dec 1 – 4, 2010, in Frankfurt, Germany. The show expects about 1,500 exhibitors from 45 countries and approximately 60,000 trade visitors. With the host country Turkey and many innovative special feature shows, EuroMold once again will present several highlights and further extend its position as the leading international trade fair for product development.

Within an area 75,000 m² EuroMold will present the latest trends in all sectors of product development in halls 8, 9 and 11, as well as in the Galleria. At EuroMold 2010 Turkey will be the partner country, a mostly dynamic emerging market which provides great opportunities for the sector of moldmaking and tooling. Further highlights at EuroMold 2010 will be the special feature shows “Energy Efficiency and Moldmaking” and “e-Production for everyone” as well as top-class conferences, forums and workshops.

The unique EuroMold fairs concept “From Idea to Prototype to Series Production” clearly illustrates the entire process chain. Here all parties involved in product development will be united – from designers, to moldmakers, machine tool producers, subcontractors to users. Core areas at EuroMold are of course moldmaking and tooling as well as Rapid Prototyping, pattern making and prototypes, CAD/CAM, simulation/VR, machine tools and tools, engineering
and design.

As of July 1, EuroMold has increased the number of international exhibitors, including those from South Korea (+66.7% compared to same period of previous year), Turkey (60.0%), UK (+55.6%), Spain (+16.7%) and France (+10.5%).

At EuroMold, 23.9% of all exhibitors are in the field of ‘Moldmaking and Tooling’. Hence, this is the most represented sector of EuroMold followed by ‘Rapid Prototyping and Tooling’ (9.9%). The third biggest area is ‘Simulation + VR’ with 8.9% (an increase from 5.9% compared to 2009). 5.8% of all exhibitors that have signed up so far are active in the field of ‘Design’, a growth of 38.1% compared
to 2009.

Turkey is one of the fastest growing emerging markets and has already achieved a very important position within the scope of automotive and electronic industry. Hence, the country offers great opportunities for mold- and toolmakers.

Highlights and Special Topics

At EuroMold 2010 the latest technologies showcased by the exhibitors will be flanked by innovative workshops and special feature shows. ‘e-Production for Everyone’ which premiered and became a spectator magnet at EuroMold 2009 will be extended and cultivated. At EuroMold 2010 this special feature show in hall 11 will provide insight to trends and future application of additive manufacturing.

Energy Efficiency and Moldmaking’ is a new special feature show at EuroMold 2010. In hall 8.0 exhibitors will show the innovative implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability within moldmaking and tooling. The show covers 270 m² and offers several live demonstrations and firsthand information, whereas temperature control and cast-on technique play an important part.

New: Hall 11 = ‘House of Creation’

The new, modern hall 11 becomes ‘House of Creation’, another highlight at EuroMold 2010. ‘House of Creation’ will comprise the sectors ‘Design + Engineering’, ‘Materials’, ‘Simulation + VR’ and ‘Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing’. Thus it creates a unique market place for modern
product development.
